Bareboat Charter

A bareboat charter is not a contract of carriage, but a lease agreement for a vessel. Under this arrangement, the shipowner leases the vessel itself to the charterer for a specified period, while the charterer is responsible for manning the vessel and managing its operations. This type of contract is used when a vessel needs to be secured and operated for an extended period.
