FSRU
Abbreviation for Floating Storage and Regasification Unit. An FSRU receives LNG at about -160°C and stores it offshore. Upon demand, the FSRU heats up the LNG for regasification and sends it out as a high-pressure gas to the pipeline. An FSRU serves as a replacement for an onshore LNG receiving terminal.
